Why do I need a Certificate of Use?
A Certificate of Use is necessary to verify the requested use is consistent with zoning regulations at the proposed location. Furthermore, a Certificate of Use is required for all businesses including new businesses, relocation of an existing business, new owner of business (transfer of ownership), and Rental of Apartment Units. Any change in use will require a new Certificate of Use.

However, a Certificate of Use is not required for single family homes, or home based businesses.
