Expansion of Vaccination Eligibility
Per Governor Ron DeSantis' Executive Order 21-62, effective Monday, March 15th, the following are now eligible for the vaccine
- Residents age 60+
- Frontline health care workers
- Residents and staff of long-term care facilities
- Individuals deemed extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 as determined by a physician – form required
- Sworn law enforcement officers age 50+
- Firefighters age 50+
- All K-12 school employees age 50+ (including public, private and charter schools)
Beverly Hills Condominium Temporary Vaccination Site
Those 60 and older who are interested in receiving the vaccine on Thursday, March 18th or Friday, March 19th may contact the Beverly Hills Condominium Association at 954-962-0121. Vaccines will be available on a first come, first served basis until all appointments are booked. Only those 60 and older will be served at this location, no first responders or people with a doctor’s note.
New Vaccination Site
On Wednesday, March 17, Florida Department of Health in Broward (DOH-Broward) will begin COVID-19 vaccinations by appointment only at Citi Centre in Pompano Beach, located at 1955 N. Federal Highway in Pompano Beach. To make an appointment, register online at myvaccine.fl.gov or call 866-201-6313 (TTY 833-476-1526). Eligible individuals will be contacted when an appointment is available for them. Homebound Residents: May request a vaccination at their residence by sending an email to homeboundvaccine@em.myflorida.com
TY Park "POD" For First Responders and School Personnel
Florida Department of Health (FDOH), in partnership with Broward County have activate a COVID-19 closed vaccination Point of Distribution (POD) at TY Park in Hollywood. At this time this site is only open to sworn Police and Fire Rescue personnel over the age of 50 and all school personnel. Additional important information regarding this site follows:
- This site is only open to sworn Police and Fire Rescue personnel over the age of 50.
- This site is open to all school personnel, regardless of age, and includes those who work in private, public, and charter schools, pre-schools, and daycare centers.
- The site is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- TY Park will be closed to the public on vaccination days. The park will be open to the public on Sundays and Mondays.
- The site is expected to remain a closed POD for the next several weeks.
- The site is closed to the general public.
- FDOH will determine at a later date if or when this site will transition to an open site for the general public.
- No appointment necessary, however First responders should check with their respective department head and school personnel should check with their schools.
- Child care staff need to bring the Florida Health Consent Form, School ID and Florida driver’s license in order to be vaccinated.

Florida Department of Health - Broward Telephone Appointment System
Appointments for COVID-19 vaccination sites operated by Florida Department of Health in Broward County (DOH-Broward) can be scheduled using the State appointment telephone system by calling 866-201-6313 (TTY: 833-476-1526). When calling for an appointment, you will be asked via an automated system to enter information using your telephone keypad. Live agents will then call you back to schedule an appointment once appointments become available.
PLEASE NOTE: People who receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at DOH-Broward sites through the new telephone appointment system will be called by the Call Center about 14 days after their first dose to schedule a second dose appointment.

- Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium, 3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill. Hours: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Coral Square Mall, 9469 W. Atlantic Blvd., Coral Springs. Hours: Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Lockhart Stadium, 1350 NW 55th Street, Fort Lauderdale. Hours: Monday - Friday 9 a.m to 4:30 p.m.
- Markham Park, 16001 W State Road 84, Sunrise. Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Snyder Park, 3299 SW 4th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Tradewinds Park, 3600 W Sample Rd., Coconut Creek. Hours: Sunday-Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Tree Tops Park, 3900 SW 100th Avenue, Davie. Hours: Sunday - Thursday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While Walgreens is participating with vaccination sites elsewhere in Florida, there are currently no Walgreens stores in Broward County offering the vaccine. Visit Broward.org/Coronavirus (Vaccination Sites) often for updates.
Hospital Vaccination Sites
In addition to the Department of Health initiatives, there are 173 hospitals in Florida administering vaccines to health care workers who have direct patient contact, health care workers who are out in the community and to persons age 65+ determined by hospital providers to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19. Once an individual has received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, they will be given a scheduled time to return for their second dose. It is very important to return for the second dose on the day and time instructed to do so.
Testing Continues
The availability of the vaccine does not reduce the need for ongoing COVID-19 testing, which remains available for free at many locations throughout Broward County, including the Boulevard Heights Community Center in Hollywood. And while initial data of the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine is encouraging, equally important is to continue to follow safety protocols: wear a mask, practice safe social distancing and wash your hands often.
FLORIDA RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
State of Florida Surgeon General Scott A. Rivkees, M.D. issued a Florida Department of Health Public Health Advisory on January 21, 2021, prioritizing Florida residents for receiving the vaccine in the state of Florida. Prior to providing the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, the provider will ensure the recipient is either a Florida resident or a health care provider working in the state who is providing direct patient care. Residency requirements are defined in Florida Statutes 381.986(5)(b) and do provide some accommodation of seasonal residents. Individuals who received a first dose before this Public Health Advisory was issued will receive the second dose.
