Two Broward County poll workers that participated in the Florida Presidential Preference Primary on March 17 have tested positive for the coronavirus. The Broward County Supervisor of Elections office announced on Thursday afternoon, March 26th, saying it was alerted of two poll workers’ test results.
One of the poll workers was assigned to the Martin Luther King Community Center, 2400 Charleston Street in Hollywood, (Precinct V011) only on election day. The other person worked at the David Park Community Center, 108 N 33rd Court in Hollywood, (Precinct V020), on election day as well as in Weston during early voting. The poll worker at the David Park Community Center was one of two worker who handled drivers licenses and scanned them as part of the voter check in process. The poll worker at the MLK Center did not have direct contact with voters.
Other poll workers and county staff at those locations have been notified. Voters who voted in person on March 17th at either of these locations may wish to seek medical advice regarding whether they should self-isolate.
