Royal Poinciana Neighborhood Utility Project - Construction Costs: $22,867,926
As part of the City of Hollywood's continuing effort to provide and maintain high quality utility services to its residents, the Department of Public Utilities is contracted with Lanzo Construction Company to install new water mains and a new sewer system in the Royal Poinciana neighborhood. Work will be done in a phases through December 2022 and will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the area of Sheridan Street to Hollywood Boulevard from US1 to N 21st Avenue.
Phase II began on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 between Sheridan and Scott Streets from Federal Highway to 21st Avenue.
Residents are asked to refraining from parking and/or placing any personal items within the work zone and the public right-of-way during construction to avoid possible damage. If conditions are identified that will require additional work, residents will be notified accordingly. During the course of this project, residents will be impacted as traffic will be re-routed as necessary to accomplish the work. Access to the project area may be limited at times. Additional notifications advising of road closures will be posted to the City’s website, included in the City’s “News and Announcements” Notify Me email blast, on City social media accounts and via flyer to impacted properties.

Project Scope Includes:
- Replacing 84,600 linear feet of water mains (various sizes) within Sheridan St. and Hollywood Blvd., from US1 to N 21st Avenue
- Replacing 1,135 water service lines (within public right-of-way)
- Installing 26,310 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains within Sheridan St. and Taft Street, from US1 to N 21st Avenue
- Installing 2,800 linear feet of sanitary forcemain
- Installing a central sanitary sewer lift Station
- Restoring pavement marking and striping
All dates are estimates and schedules are subject to change due to unanticipated conditions. Additionally, notifications will be posted if conditions are identified that require adjustments to the scope of work.
