A water main break occurred this morning (December 12th) on A1A just north of Sheridan Street in Hollywood. Subsequently, the City’s Water Treatment Plant experienced a drop in pressure and as a result, the City is advising water customers in the following area to boil their water for drinking purposes.
• A1A north of Sheridan Street up to and including the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park.
As of 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, residents in the affected area should still not consume the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil and let it continue boiling for one minute. Only boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Again, a boil water order is in effect for water customers of the City of Hollywood located on A1A north of Sheridan Street up to and including the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park. No other properties on the barrier island or in the City of Hollywood fall under this precautionary boil water alert at this time.
