The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting a Construction Open House on Wednesday, May 16th from 5-7 p.m. at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, The Chopman Center located at 425 N 58 Avenue in Hollywood regarding sidewalk improvements in the Hollywood Gardens West community and on Taft Street from N 20 Avenue to N 14 Avenue. This $2.6 million dollar project is scheduled to begin on June 5, 2018 and be completed in Spring 2019.
The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is investing over $300 million to create safer, healthier communities in Broward. This project is one of many within a larger plan to create enhanced bicycle, pedestrian, and public transportation access throughout the Broward region. The Broward MPO is a federally-mandated agency that is responsible for making decisions on local transportation issues and deciding how to spend federal funds on transportation projects within Broward. The Open House will have an informal format and project representatives will be available to answer questions and provide assistance at any time during the meeting.
