[ARCHIVED] Traffic Advisory: Closures Planned in Hollywood

Traffic Alert

A full closure of Sheridan Street at SR 7 is planned for Friday, January 26 at 9:00 p.m. through Saturday, January 27 at 5:00 a.m. for water main installations. Motorists traveling westbound on Sheridan Street will be detoured northbound SR 7, Stirling Road and NW 68 Avenue. Motorist traveling eastbound will be detoured via southbound SR 7, Taft Street and NW 56 Avenue.

The Complete Streets Construction Project is currently underway on Hollywood Boulevard causing periodic road closures. Please be advised that Hollywood Boulevard between City Hall Circle and S 24 Avenue will continue to be closed nightly from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for water main installations through Thursday, January 25th. Motorists traveling westbound will be detoured to North 24 Avenue and Polk Street. Motorists traveling eastbound will be detoured to Van Buren Street and South 24 Avenue.

The second phase of this same project will have Hollywood Boulevard closed from 24th Avenue east to Dixie Highway from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. nightly beginning on Sunday, January 28th and ending on Thursday, February 1st. Motorists traveling westbound will be detoured to North 21 Avenue, Polk Street and North 24 Avenue. Motorist traveling eastbound will be detoured to South 24 Avenue, Van Buren Street and South 21 Avenue. Please note: water service will not be affected due to this scheduled work. Additionally, east-bound lanes on Sheridan Street at US-1 will be closed from Thursday, January 25th to January 28th for the installation of water mains. Due to the complexity of the installation in this area and the potential of unforeseen conditions, overnight work may be involved. Detour signs will be in place to instruct motorists. Residents in this area are asked to refrain from parking vehicles and/or placing personal items within the work zone or public right-of-way.
