[ARCHIVED] Impact Assessment Has Begun for Rapid Recovery Deployment

After the Storm

The City of Hollywood's Impact assessment has begun with Public Safety Crews. Full-scale recovery efforts will begin with Hollywood Police and Fire Rescue & Beach Safety conducting assessments of critical infrastructure and locations hardest hit by Hurricane Irma. Officers and crews will work their way across the city in an effort to resume vital services.

In coordination with Public Safety, Public Works crews will be out starting on major thoroughfares clearing debris and other hazards. Once the main corridors are cleared crews will fan out city-wide to begin removing storm-related debris from streets and then alleyways. It is very important that residents observe the curfew in effect until 10:00 a.m. and even afterwards refrain from creating unnecessary traffic on the roadways. This will help expedite recovery efforts.

Timing of recovery efforts within the City are dependent upon the amount of damage discovered and the amount of resources required to mobilize for removal.

Access onto the barrier island will be restricted until this impact assessment is completed and areas are deemed safe for the public.

You can help speed the recovery by collecting your storm-related debris. All collections for garbage, commingled, recycling, brush and storm-related debris will take place curbside at the front of your property until further notice. Collections will take place faster if you pile debris in the front of your home instead of the alley. Alleys should be kept clear for collections trucks. Due to the significant amount of debris, recovery efforts will take several weeks. Your patience is appreciated.
