[ARCHIVED] New Sidewalks Planned For Several Neighborhoods

Safe Routes To School

The Florida Safe Route to School Program helps communities fund projects to improve their transportation needs and encourage more students to walk or bike to school. The Safe Route to School program focuses on children in grades kindergarten through high school with projects that are pedestrians and bicyclists oriented. As part of the 2014 Safe Route to School Grant Program, the Florida Department of Transportation will be funding approximately $508,000 worth of sidewalk improvements in the City of Hollywood. Improvements will take place in the neighborhoods bound by Fletcher Street to the South, Washington Street to the North, S. 29th Avenue to the West and S. 24th Avenue to the East. Construction is expected to begin in Summer of 2018. For more information on the project click the link below.
