The Hollywood Gardens West Sidewalk and Bicycle Facility Improvement Project is a Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) "Complete Streets" Initiative. In partnership with the City and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the MPO's goal is to provide for sidewalk connectivity and bicycle facility improvements within the Hollywood Gardens West neighborhood.
The scope of the project is to include construction of new sidewalk spans that will link to existing sidewalks in the area, in an effort to create a continuous, connected, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood. Designated bike lanes are also proposed, as part of the project, on Columbus Parkway and Glenn Parkway. Shared bike lanes are proposed on North 58th Avenue, Lincoln Street, Fillmore Street, Polk Street and on Taft Street between North 14th Avenue and North 20th Avenue. Minor drainage improvements will also be a part of the project as required.
