The City's Public Utilities crew, led by new Director Vincent Morello and Underground Utilities Superintendent Jaime Castillo finished the watermain repair at Washington Street and 20th Avenue on Friday, several days ahead of schedule.
On Wednesday a telecom company working in the area inadvertently hit our new watermain. The puncture caused a break sending water into the street and caving in the roadway. The crews have worked very hard to quickly make the repairs in an effort to
lessen the impact on customers during the holidays. The final pavement went down on Friday and the roadway has reopened to motorist.
