Port Everglades continues to expand in Hollywood. Over 80% of Port Everglades located in Hollywood and many new projects are underway. The Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the Southport Turning Notch Expansion and Crane Rail Improvement Project in Port Everglades was issued on Tuesday, April 26th . This recently completed project is part of a $1.6 billion dollar, five year infrastructure improvement project currently underway in Port Everglades. The Southport Turning Notch Expansion and Crane Rail Improvement Project includes portions of the crane rail concrete girder, waterside and landside rails, crane stops, south wall fenders, drainage structures, asphalt pavement and striping, which lengthens the existing deep-water turn-around area for cargo ships and will allow for new cargo berths. The North side turning notch is still under construction.
