The Florida Department of Health has posted a no swimming advisory at Harrison Street due to high bacteria counts. The advisory will remain in effect until their sample results of 70 CFU/100mL for Enterococci bacteria or less. As such, Hollywood Beach Safety has closed off a three block area around Harrison Street. The lifeguard towers at Hollywood Boulevard and Virginia Streets are also flying the double red flags to advise the public that swimming is not currently allowed. This protocol will remain in effect until cleared by the Department of Health.
