[ARCHIVED] Traffic Update: Road, Alleyway & Lane Closures Scheduled

I-95 Southbound Entrance Ramps at Stirling Road and Griffin Road Overnight Lane Closures 

The I-95 southbound entrance ramps from Stirling Road and Griffin Road will be closed to traffic nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, beginning Sunday Dec.12.

N. 56th Avenue between Sheridan Street and Stirling Road Overnight Lane Closures

N 56th Avenue, between Sheridan Street and Stirling Road will be closed to traffic beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 12th through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, December 13th for paving operations. To minimize impact to motorists, only one direction will be closed at a time. During the southbound closure, traffic will be detoured via SR-7/US 441. During the northbound closure, traffic will be detoured via N 46th Avenue. Access will be maintained to local residents, at all times.

PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS:

This work is a part of the Southwest Broward Mobility Improvements Project, and is being done in partnership with the Broward MPO. Project improvements include widening the roadway to accommodate 7-foot buffered bicycle lanes and adding sidewalks to create a continuous facility in each direction of SW 56th Avenue; adding shared lane pavement markings in each direction along SW 62nd Avenue and North 64th Avenue to enhance the safe travel of bicycles and motor vehicles in the same traffic lane; and adding sidewalks to create a continuous facility in each direction of SW 62nd Avenue.

N. 22nd Avenue between Johnson Street and Sheridan Street

Contractors for Florida Power and Light, Concurrent, is closing N. 22nd Avenue at numerous locations in order to install new concrete poles in conjunction with their Citywide hardening project.  The closures along N. 22nd Avenue began on Wednesday, October 27th and will continue for approximately two months. Various streets and alleys adjacent to the corridor where closures will be implemented will also be impacted. Please click here to see the impacted areas. Lane Closure on N. 35th Avenue at Johnson Street

Crews will be on-site at N. 35th Avenue just north of Johnson Street on Monday, December 13th from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. directing traffic around the lane closure. The closure will allow for the delivery of an MRI machine to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
