100% of the latex paint collected through the Broward County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program is recycled into new, high-quality exterior paint which is then provided to residents, non-profit organizations, and participating cities at no cost.
The Operation Paintbrush Program in Hollywood provides high-quality exterior latex paint for free to single-family homeowners in Hollywood. Paint can be picked up at the Department of Public Works, 1600 S. Park Road in Hollywood from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Distribution is on a first-come, first-served, basis while the City's supply lasts. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, November 18th, 2023. To participate, you must provide your current driver’s license with a Hollywood address and a current utility bill as proof of Hollywood residency. The paint colors typically offered are off-white, beige, grey, terracotta, and turquoise.
Paint distributed through the Operation Paintbrush program is supplied to participating municipalities by Broward County. The county recycles donated paint that is dropped off at their collection sites by Broward County residents who no longer have a need for it. The Operation Paintbrush Program relies solely on these donations.
If you have old paint, you would like to recycle, you may drop it at the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off facility, 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd, West Park, FL, every Saturday, 9am-3pm. Residents must have proof of residency in the City of Hollywood.
