Biography



Commissioner Traci L. Callari was born in Sacramento, California and has been living in Hollywood since 1978. She is a graduate of Hallandale High School and earned her degree in nursing at Broward College. Prior to becoming a nurse, Commissioner Callari worked in the banking field for the former First Union National Bank. She also worked as a Surgical and Insurance Coordinator for a local doctor’s office. While she attended nursing school, Commissioner Callari worked for a heavy equipment company, where she played a vital role in establishing this new business in Hollywood. Commissioner Callari currently works as a registered nurse/staff relief charge in the Intensive Care and Trauma Unit at Memorial Regional Hospital. For 18 years, Commissioner Callari has been married to James E. Callari, a 25 year veteran of the Hollywood Police Department. Together they have 3 wonderful children: Nhina, Michael and Olivia, all born and raised in Hollywood, FL. They are very proud grandparents of their first grandchild born in November 2016.

Commissioner Callari has proven to be a proactive and true voice for the community in which she serves. She is very involved and concerned not only with safety in our community, but also the preserving of green space as well as focusing on smart development. During her tenure, Commissioner Callari initiated and successfully established the beautification and redevelopment of Stan Goldman Park to include Hollywoof Dog Park for families to enjoy for years to come. While closely working with the developer, City staff and the community, she played a vital role in the smart development modifications for Charles Vollman Park and Sheridan Station.

In addition to beautification and focusing on a safe, family-friendly community, Commissioner Callari implemented the first Youth Ambassador Program in Hollywood which focuses on developing youth leadership. Commissioner Callari believes there is no greater gift than the gift of service to others. With a passion for public service, and the ability to motivate and mobilize people to action, Commissioner Callari was elected to the City of Hollywood Commission on November 6, 2012 and is committed to representing and improving the quality of life in her District and across the City.
