The City of Hollywood’s Engineering, Transportation and Mobility Division, in partnership with transportation engineering consultant Kimley-Horn, is hosting a virtual public meeting on a Complete Streets Project for 29th Avenue on Thursday, February 4th at 4:00 p.m. This project proposes several improvements to the existing roadway. Stakeholders, interested parties and the general public are all invited to attend.
In conjunction with Broward County and the City’s focus on implementing the “Complete Streets” model on important corridors citywide, Kimley-Horn is currently reviewing the characteristics of the N 29th Avenue corridor between Sheridan Street and Stirling Road. The team is studying existing and long-range vehicular travel volumes to determine whether or not the existing configuration can be modified to Complete Streets configuration with the goal of ensuring safe and efficient amenities for all modes of transportation, including vehicular, transit, pedestrian, and bicycle modes of travel.
The project could also include the following:
- Lane repurposing
- Pedestrian lighting
- Wider sidewalks with pavers
- Dedicated center turn lane
- Buffered bike lane
- Milling and resurfacing
- Possible landscape opportunity areas between sidewalk and bike lane
- Drainage modifications
