Traffic Alert: Daily Full Closure of North 56th Avenue from Sheridan Street to Stirling Road
The Florida Department of Transportation has issued a traffic advisory for a full closure of N 56th Avenue from Sheridan Street to Stirling Road beginning on Monday, January 4th. N 56th Avenue will be closed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for roadway widening to accommodate the construction of 7-foot buffered bicycle lanes. Traffic will be detoured through US 441/ SR 7. Access will be maintained for school drop-off and pick-up, local residents, public transportation, and emergency responders only. Motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route to avoid delays. Construction is expected to be completed in Summer 2021.
The estimated construction cost is $4,993,116 and is part of the FDOT’s Southwest Broward Mobility Improvement Project.
