A1A Improvements Project from Sheridan Street to Monroe Street in Hollywood
Description: Improvements under this project include removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, widening sidewalks and upgrading ramps to meet ADA requirements, replacing drainage structures and installing flap gates, removing, narrowing, and /or upgrading medians and curb and gutter, adding 4-foot bike lanes from Monroe Street to Arizona Street, adding sharrows (share the road pavement markings) from Arizona Street to Sheridan Street, upgrading and installing new pedestrian signals, and minor signalization and street light improvements. Traffic Impact:
- Northbound and southbound SR A1A, between Sheridan Street to Johnson Street, will continue to have intermittent lane closures, Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., for lighting and punch list work. One lane in each direction will always be maintained.
SR 824/Pembroke Road at Dixie Highway Intersection Improvements Project
Description: The improvements under this contract include upgrading signalized intersections to mast arms, installing crosswalks, pedestrian signal crossings and associated curb ramps, upgrading existing lighting to LED and milling and resurfacing the roadway. Traffic Impact:
- One lane will be closed along Pembroke Road and the Dixie Highway intersection, Monday through Thursday, between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
SR 9/I-95 at SR 824/Pembroke Road Interchange Improvements Project
Description: The improvements under this contract include widening the I-95 off-ramps at Pembroke Road to accommodate an additional right turn lane; minor shoulder widening of the I-95 on-ramps at Pembroke Road; upgrading the existing traffic signals at the intersections of Pembroke Road and the I-95 off-ramps; upgrading the existing lighting along the I-95 on and off-ramps at Pembroke Road to LED lighting; reconstructing the sidewalks and pedestrian crossings at the I-95 off-ramps and the I-95 northbound on-ramp at Pembroke Road; milling and resurfacing within the project limits. Traffic Impact:
- Intermittent lane closures on the I-95 exit and entrance ramps to Pembroke Road will occur Monday through Thursday, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and Sunday through Thursday, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
- Intermittent lane closures in each direction of Pembroke Road from SW 31stAvenue to S 28th Avenue will occur overnight, Sunday through Thursday, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
SR 5/US-1 Bus Shelter Improvements Project
Description: The improvements under this contract include installing 11 bus shelters along the project limits; upgrading signalization at 18 intersections to provide traffic signal priority for public transit buses; installing a crosswalk, pedestrian signal crossing; and associated curb ramps on SR 5/US-1 at NE/NW 1st Street in the City of Dania Beach. Traffic Impact:
- One northbound lane will be closed along US-1, from east of NE 30th Street to north of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Monday through Friday, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- One northbound lane will be closed along US-1 at East of Coolidge Street in the City of Hollywood, Monday through Friday, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- One lane in each direction will be closed along US-1 and NW 1st Street in the City of Dania Beach, Monday through Friday, daily, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and nightly, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
- One northbound lane will be closed along US-1 at SE 9th Street in Hallandale Beach, Monday through Friday, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- One southbound lane will be closed along US-1 from SE 9th Street to SE 20thStreet, through Wednesday, March 11, 2020, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- One outside lane in each direction will be closed along US-1 from SE 9th Street to SE 30th Street, Monday through Friday, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
SR 7 / US 441 Improvements Project from Fillmore Street to south of Stirling Road in Hollywood and the Seminole Indian Reservation
Description: Project improvements include adding one through lane in each direction for a total of six lanes with left turn lanes separated by raised medians, constructing new storm sewer system and retention ponds, installing new water and sewer lines, constructing bus bays at current bus stop locations, constructing curbs and gutters, adding or replacing sidewalks with ADA compliant ramps on both sides of the road, upgrading existing signalized intersections with mast arms and add pedestrian countdown timers at Johnson Street, Taft Street, and Sheridan Street, installing new signalized intersection and pedestrian countdown timers at Fillmore Street, improving street lighting along the corridor by installing new lighting system along the west side of SR 7/US 441, adding Intelligent Transportation System components including digital message signs and traffic monitoring cameras, and resurfacing the roadway. City of Hollywood Mobility Improvements Project
Description: Project improvements installing bike lanes along Hollywood Boulevard and Park Road; adding shared lane pavement markings along 35th Avenue, Polk Street, Rainbow Drive, Circle Drive, and Van Buren Street to enhance the safe travel of bicycles and motor vehicles in the same traffic lane; installing sidewalks along Fillmore Street, Hollywood Boulevard, and the intersections of Polk Street and Van Buren Street at 24th Avenue; adding a mid-block crossing on Hollywood Boulevard, east of 28th Avenue; relocating the existing water main on the north side of Hollywood Boulevard; and adding french drains on Hollywood Boulevard between Academy Circle and 35th Street, and on Park Road between Washington Street and Johnson Street. Traffic Impact:
- The inside lane will be closed in each direction along Park Road, from Washington Street to Johnson Street, during construction.
- The outside westbound lane of Hollywood Boulevard, from N 35th Avenue to South Academy Circle, will be temporarily closed through March 2020, for water main and drainage installations.
- The inside southbound lane will be closed along N Park Road, from Fillmore Street to Hollywood Boulevard, through August 2020, for widening concrete, milling & resurfacing, signing and pavement markings.
Southwest Broward Mobility Improvements Project
Description: Project improvements include widening the roadway to accommodate 7-foot buffered bicycle lanes and adding sidewalks to create a continuous facility in each direction of SW 56th Avenue; adding shared lane pavement markings in each direction along SW 62nd Avenue and North 64th Avenue to enhance the safe travel of bicycles and motor vehicles in the same traffic lane; and adding sidewalks to create a continuous facility in each direction of SW 62nd Avenue. 14th Avenue Mobility Improvements Project
Description: The improvements under this contract include widening the roadway to accommodate bike lanes on 14th Avenue, Arthur Street, and Harding Street; adding shared lane pavement markings along 14th Avenue and Harding Street, to enhance the safe travel of bicycles and motor vehicles in the same traffic lane; and installing a shared-use path (off-road path) on Polk Street and 14th Avenue. Traffic Impact:
- Sections of the westbound lane will be closed along Polk Street, from 14thAvenue to 17th Avenue, Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., for shared use pathway construction. Flaggers will be present to direct motorists around the work zone.
- North 14th Avenue from Taft Street to Arthur Street will be closed daily, Monday, April 13 through Friday, May 15 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., for the installation of drainage structures along North 14th Avenue bordering the Eco Golf Club. Traffic will be detoured through North 16th Court between Taft Street and Arthur Street during daily operations.
