As part of our continued commitment to improving the customer service experience, the Departments of Development Services and Information Technology have been working to improve the automated Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. Due to the tremendous call volume received in the City's Building Division, customers who have phoned the Division to schedule permit inspections have sometimes experienced long wait times holding for an available permit clerk.
With the new and improved system, features have been expanded to include English and Spanish accessibility to schedule, cancel or hear inspection results. The most significant new feature is the ability for customers to schedule a Final Inspection through the IVR, rather than having to speak with a permit clerk.
