Biography


Vice Mayor Anderson is a fourth generation Liberia resident and Hollywood homeowner. Anderson is the daughter of Johnny & Mary Hill, a widow, proud mother of two children, Bryant and LaKeisha, grandmother of four, auntie to a growing number of nieces and nephews, and reliable friend to the many residents she has served over the years. Linda graduated from Hollywood Hills High School, Sheridan Technical School, and after 42 years with the Broward County Public School System as a trainer and in staff development, she retired in 2014.

Linda has been active in District 2 for more than 30 years and is fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a member of the Hollywood City Commission. Linda’s accomplishments and volunteer activities include: Liberia Civic Association, President, 10 years; Hollywood Council of Civic Associations member, 6 years; African American Advisory Council, 6 years; Neighborhood Watch, 12 years; Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend of events; Advisory Board Juneteenth day of events Parade; Coordinator of Youth Education Programs through the New Hope Church as Youth Director; Attucks Middle School Classroom Reading Program; Tutor to residents obtaining their CDL (Commercial Driver’s License); Recruiter for Broward County Public Schools Bus Driver and Attendant positions; Candy Striper at Memorial Hospital; Collins Elementary Literacy Summer Program, Students K-2; Co-Sponsor with Benjamin Israel in Confederate General street renaming; Food Distribution volunteer.

Anderson is honored to be the first Black elected Commissioner in the City of Hollywood. Her purpose in serving as District 2 Commissioner is to make this city a better place to live for all residents. She will focus on the current economic devastation caused by the pandemic; environmental issues facing the city; improving neighborhood visibility and enhancing educational opportunities for children and residents.
