In a continuing effort to better serve the needs of residents and the business community, the Development Services Division is pleased to announce the Digital Plan Review Service. Digital Plan Review allows residents, contractors and tradesmen the ability to submit one of over twenty "short review" permits electronically for review. Projects that only require one or two disciplines to review and typically only take 5 business days to approve are considered "short review" permits. Save time and start your project sooner by submitting your permit application digitally. In the very near future additional permit types will be added to the Digital Permit Review service.
To use the Digital Plan Review service, you must first ensure your notarized permit application and documentation is in an electronic format as PDF files. Each document (application, separate product approvals, survey, sketch, etc.) should be scanned separately and each file clearly named. Collect all individual PDF files, attach to a single email and send to email@example.com Please specify the type of permit and job address being applied for in the email subject line. Individual PDF documents must be scanned at an image resolution of 300dpi or higher. The total combined megabytes for your email cannot exceed 20 megabytes. This email address is not for general permit inquires.
Documents that require a design professional's seal cannot be accepted digitally. If additional information is needed, you will receive and email requesting the additional documents be uploaded.
Once the Permit Application is approved for review, it will be automatically routed to the required disciplines. You are then responsible to follow your Permit Application as it makes it's way through the approval process. This can be done by clicking here
The plan reviewers will either approve, conditional approve or deny the Permit Application. Should your permit be denied, comments will be provided. You will then need to address each comment by submitting corrections to the application along with a response sheet to each comment.
The Building Department offers the free Permit Cost Estimator tool so you can get a good idea of just how much your project will cost.
